Editor's review
This software tool produces HTMl code pages from Word documents.
DocToHtml is a handy tool for web designers. This converts Word documents in DOC, DOCX, RTF or TXT formats to HTML and XHTML pages. DocToHtml produces compact, easily readable and editable (X)HTML code. The code produced is compatible with all the major browsers. These include the IE, Chrome, Firefox, Opera and Safari. The tool produces HTML code that is W3C standards compatible too. It is CSS formatted and can be customized by users. The tool can handle a batch of documents, if required, and thus makes the web designer`s job quite easy. The command line mode of the tool can help process documents in the automatic mode. DocToHtml allows you to specify the formatting to be preserved. You can also specify what formatting to be dropped. This allows you the freedom to create pages that best suit your scheme of things, rather than what was included in the original document.
It is also possible to specify your own CSS instead of the one generated automatically from the source document. The main interface could not have been simpler. One area lets you list the documents to be converted. The other part is a log area that captures how the batch conversion process is going. For the images, format choices are available. These include GIF, PFG and JPEG formats. This can make your job easy when a number of pages are to be converted, for which you have a clear idea of the formats to be used. A WYSIWYG editor is more effective in a customized design.
